East London Small Business Centre is an Enterprise Agency.
These agencies are locally-based, not-for-profit organisations across the country that aim to raise economic activity by offering business support.
We are a member of the National Federation of Enterprise Agencies.
Enterprise Agencies have existed in the UK since the late 1970s, and the East London Small Business Association is the oldest surviving example.
We are also a Community Development Finance Institution (CDFI).
This status means we are able to offer loans to the businesses we support.
A network of CDFIs exists in areas across the country to help create kickstart enterprise and create prosperity for local people and businesses.
We are a member of the national body that oversees CDFIs, the Community Development Finance Association
As a CDFI, we have been providing loans of last resort for over 23 years to entrepreneurs in east London.
